Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced Zimbabwean citizens to fill the vacant position of USF PROJECTS CIVIL ENGINEER on fixed term contract basis.

This position has the responsibility of providing technical support and expertise to ensure that projects meet the expected standards of construction projects under the Universal Services Fund.

The position reports to the USF Projects Manager

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Liaising with stakeholders and a variety of professionals including Architects, Consultants and Subcontractors on
    project matters.
  • Compiling project specification and supervising tender procurement procedures.
  • Designing civil and structural works for Telecommunication Towers.
  • Ensuring that specified standards are followed throughout project development.
  • Estimating bills of quantities, cost of materials, equipment, and labour resources in line with project completion parameters.
  • Ensuring contractors produce and adhere to project safety, health and environmental requirements at all times.
  • Assessing the sustainability and environmental impact of projects
  • Ensuring projects run smoothly and structures are completed within the budget.
  • Participating in tendering processes.
  • Monitoring project implementation and generation of progress report.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Civil/ Civil and Water/Structural Engineering
  • At least 5 years’ experience in the deployment of Telecommunication infrastructure /construction.
  • Membership of a professional engineering body.
  • PMP Certification or equivalent an added advantage.
  • Clean Class four (4) driver’s license a must.
  • Excellent computer proficiency
