Job Description

A leading organisation in the Healthcare Service Industry is seeking to recruit a highly qualified individual to join our team. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Strategy & Research Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Managing Director, the position shall be responsible for the following, among other duties:-
  • Proposes a quantitatively sound position to influence the strategic direction of the business based on data analysis and research.
  • Applies theories, concepts and ideas to influence strategic decisions around emerging situations affected by the principles of insurance.
  • Monitors corporate strategy at regular intervals and recommends adjustments through hypothesis testing and key data analysis.
  • Interprets and analyses statistical and quantitative data to advise management in complex situations.
  • Evaluates validity and feasibility of proposed solutions against business plans.
  • Estimates the likelihood of catastrophic events
  • Develops statistical models to analyze data and calculate the probability of certain events and assesses the risk exposure to the business.
  • Develops new products and carry out initial tests to ascertain their level of acceptance before they are launched on a wider scale.
  • Analyses statistical data to determine products to offer and recommended product prices.
  • Analyses statistical data to determine cost of doing business and marketing of products in specific localities.

Person Specification:-

  •  5 ‘O’Levels including English and Mathematics;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Related Quantitative Degree;
  • Master’s degree qualification as well as data analysis qualifications will be added advantages;
  • At least 5 years experience in an actuarial environment at supervisory level or higher;
  • Highly computer literate;
  •  Strong leadership skills.
