Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified, experienced, self driven and results oriented individuals, to fill the position of STORES CLERK that has arisen within Chirundu Local Board.

DUTIES

  • Reconciliation of materials purchased and delivered to site
  • Perform monthly and quarterly stock checks and prepare monthly inventory reports for management use
  • Provision of effective technical support in the storage and timely distribution of stocks to ensure availability and safe custody of stocks to meet operational and maintenance requirements
  • Loads and Unload items from delivery trucks
  • Check that orders are of the highest quality and not damaged
  • Removes items from stock to fill orders from authorized requisitions
  • Assists in Counting and recording stock
  • Maintains a database of all stocks and piles reports on any shortages, losses
  • Reports any stock discrepancies to the Accounts department for further verification.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of computer packages such as Pastel
  • High level of numeracy
  •  Time management

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A Higher National Diploma in purchasing and Supply or equivalent
  • A minimum of at least 2 years working experience in the relevant department
