Job Description

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) is an Independent Electoral Management Body established in terms of Section 238 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe. Its major function is to manage and conduct elections to the offices of President, Parliament and Local Authorities, and Referendums, and all related electoral processes in accordance with the laws of Zimbabwe and international best practice.

The Commission wishes to recruit professionals of high integrity with good communication and decision-making skills, and sound knowledge of electoral democracy to fill the vacancy of Public Relations Technician x 1 that has arisen in the institution.

REPORTS TO : Deputy Director Public Relations
STATION : Head Office


  • Taking photographs and videos
  • Producing electronic documentaries
  • Responding to media queries in writing
  • Assisting in implementation of the Commission’s Public Relations Strategy
  • Monitoring the media


  • Higher National Diploma in Journalism/ Mass Communication or in a related field
  • A relevant degree will be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in Graphics and photo-shop skills
  • Knowledge of cameras, lighting, photography, videography, video editing
  • Proficiency in writing scripts and reports
  • At least one year work experience in the field
