Duties
- Ensuring plant is available for production and produce weekly and monthly downtime reports. .
- Ensuring that all utility equipment and general engineering facilities are maintained according to design specifications.
- Ensuring all civil repairs and installations are carried out satisfactorily and in compliance to legislation.
- Implementing engineering project work in liaison with the project engineer.
- Ensuring that all equipment is maintained according to design specifications.
- Ensuring that personnel and equipment installations comply with safety and regulatory standards.
- Prioritizing and allocating tasks to artisans as per maintenance schedules or breakdown reports.
- Maintaining plant and equipment in accordance with requirements of the Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety and other Management Systems requirements.
- Ensuring that coal ash is disposed of in compliance with legislation.
- Liaising with NSSA, EMA and Bulawayo City Council.
- Identifying training needs for maintenance staff and assisting in training and motivating the team.
- Assisting in the preparation of the maintenance budget and control of expenditure.
- Liaising with procurement to ensure the correct and good quality spares are bought and to hire the correct service providers.
- Liaising closely with production and quality control personnel in ensuring that quality problems caused by machine faults are swiftly rectified.
Your background
- Degree in Mechanical engineering or related field
- Class 1 Artisan in the related field
- Should be an apprentice trained Fitter and Turner
- 5 years’ experience with 3 years spent in a Supervisory role
- Unquestionable integrity
- Excellent analytical, communication and people skills.
