Job Description

Location: Zaka, Bikita and Chiredzi
Start date: 1 January 2022


SolidarMed is a Private Voluntary Organization operating in Masvingo Province. The organization supports the Ministry of Health and Child Care in the health service delivery according to Zimbabwe’s National Health Strategy, promoting equitable access to quality health services, with a focus on HIV/TB, Maternal Neonatal Health (MNH) and Non-Communicable Disease, all supported through digital health. SolidarMed is looking for self-motivated, culturally sensitive and experienced professionals to join their passionate team from 1 January 2022 as an M&E officer.

Job summary

The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer will:

  • Support the NCD project in data collection, analysis, knowledge management and learning activities to help ensure accountability and efficiency during the project cycle;
  • The successful candidate will work closely under the NCD project manager and in collaboration with the Project Assistants, to design and implement a coordinated M&E system;
  • The incumbent will also be offering mentorship, health promotion, capacity building and technical support to the programs team on M&E related issues.

Area of work

Stationed in Masvingo town, with about 50% travels to the project sites which are Bikita, Zaka and Chiredzi district.

Minimal requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Public health, Social Science, Demography, Statistics or related field;
  • Competent driver with clean class 4 driver’s license;
  • Minimum 3 years experience in monitoring and evaluation of a community-based programs, with NCD programs as an added advantage;
  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis;
  • Proficient in Excel, Google Drive, SPSS, STATA, nVIVO and other research packages;
  • Good oral and written English with experience in crafting impact stories, developing case studies and report writing;
  • Programmatic experience in public health and health system management is an added advantage.
