Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals to fill the position of Survey Lecturer which has arisen within the School. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Head of Survey.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A university degree in Geomatics/Survey
  • Evidence of research activity or minimum of 3 years post-secondary teaching experience in mining surveying, engineering,  surveying; or geomatics
  • A demonstrated ability to contribute substantially to the teaching requirements of the School and the mining industry


  • Lecturing survey courses in Mine surveying department
  • Plan and execute student and assessment trips
  •  Setting and marking of examinations as required by the various Exam boards
  • Evaluate and revise curriculum and courses for the Mine surveying department
  • Develop and implement professional development activities for persons employed in the field of Mine surveying
  • Assist with student recruitment.
  • Work closely with business, industry and government agencies in meeting their workforce development needs.
  • Work closely with the Association of Mine Surveyors
  • Assist in writing grant proposals as needed.
  • Assist and help oversee the departmental Survey laboratory.
  • Other duties as needed.
