Department: Programs
Reports to: Programs and Campaigns Manager
Supervises: nil
Duties and responsibilities
- Develop a work plan for the campaign and report on campaign deliverables;
- Recruit jury volunteers to provide support for the campaign;
- Carry out vetting for the most eligible nominees;
- Support the jury during the selection of the top 5 icons by arranging timely meetings;
- Conceptualization and support of logistical arrangements for meetings and events- scheduling, venue hire, preparing invitee lists, sending invitations;
- Ensure the campaign guidelines are adhered to throughout the nomination, vetting, selection, and voting processes;
- Track project progress against envisioned outcomes and indicators for the campaign;
- Maintain records of all files in a central drive and share them with the AL Global team;
- Manage and support media, communications, outreach, and networking building throughout the duration of the campaign;
- Monitor press inquiries and support timeous and appropriate responses;
- Support press releases and liaise with online media and print media to ensure maximum publicity and positive coverage;
- Maintain up-to-date stakeholder contact lists and identify potential supporter organisations and allies;
- Collate information on outcomes of campaigns to use in future projects;
- Initiate purchase requisition for required administrative or logistical support;
- Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications (REQUIRED FOR THE performance of the JOB)
- A minimum Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field;
- 3-5 years of experience implementing projects or campaigns;
- Familiarity with local political and governance issues;
- Established contacts or networks within local communities, government departments, civil society organisations, and the media is desirable;
- Good communications and writing skills in English.
