Job Description

Fintech is a leader in enterprise Information Technology services & solutions with a presence in five countries in Africa. We seek a suitable candidate to fill the position of IMPLEMENTATION AND SUPPORT ENGINEER.

The position will report to the Implementation and Support Team Leader – Fintech Group/ Zimbabwe.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for executing of all activities pertaining to the successful installation and implementation of the project.
  • Ensuring constant communication with the client in regards to project timeline, milestones and meeting project objectives.
  • Installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools
  • Moderate System Changes based on identified bugs within scripts
  • Documenting system errors and bugs, communicating and articulating to development team.
  • Documenting change requests on delivered functions of the system, communicating and articulating the same to the development team
  • Identifying, documenting, communicating and articulating project delivery risks to project team
  • Working with clients to update test scripts as well as facilitating and guiding clients in generating, documenting and communicating test cases
  • Facilitate User Acceptance Testing, System Walk Through & Training.
  • Provide consultancy in respect of product implementations
  • Installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools
  • Documentation, including preparation of training outlines, customer specific databases and report packages, based on customer specifications and established standards.
  • Analyze centrally developed Customer Specific database, reports, documentation, and related applications with Senior Implementation Specialist as required to ensure that all Customer requirements are met prior to system installation.
  • Address Customer issues list and obtain final client sign-offs to validate their satisfaction with the new system.
  • Ensure efficient and prompt resolution of incidents and requests. Produce reports to identify failures and short-comings.
  • Determine second line support calls assigned and identify the root cause of incidents and problems.
  • Provide support to clients in defining additional requirements and optimizing their implementation.
  • Review and understand client processes and procedures, map these to product functionality and identify possible system enhancements.
  • Provide client post-implementation support/consultancy as required.
  • Ensuring the highest levels of systems and infrastructure available.
  • Provide live support coverage at Customer sites on and after the system live date as budgeted and required by the Customer to ensure a smooth transition to their new system and minimize post- installation support requirements.
  • Proactively and committedly ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
  • Monitor and test application performance for potential risks; identify possible solutions, and work with other technical teams to implement those fixes.
  • Maintain system security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for system problem resolution.
  • Provide recommendations to key stakeholders regarding system configuration while being responsible for the enhancements of the systems already deployed.

Qualification & skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT/Software Engineering preferred or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years professional experience in software implementations is required especially around IT Security/IT Support /DB Administration/ System Administration.
  • Microsoft, ITIL Certifications, Oracle and IBM certification.
  • Similar experience as a Financial Services developer or Project Implementation role.
  • Knowledge in Financial and Banking systems an added advantage.
  • Knowledge in SQL, Oracle Databases and other databases.
  • Important to possess skills in HTML, DHTML, the .Net Framework, Java, VB.Net, C#, PHP, ASP, C++.
  • Sound knowledge of Information technology and related support architectures, programming and database analysis.
  • Experience with managing sophisticated enterprise integrations between business applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Strong Presales skills to enable the consultant deliver eye catching presentations to clients.
  • Willingness to travel.
