ICT Network and Security Engineer

Job Description

Applicants are invited to fill in the vacant position of ICT Network and Security Engineer that has arisen in our General Insurance Division.

Reporting to: The Business Systems Support Manager

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Network design and configuration
• Security planning and implementation
• Perform network penetration testing and closing on results of Pen Tests
• Design and configure server systerns according to developer or vendor specifications
• Troubleshoot. resolve and/or escalate systems queries to vendors for technical support
• Conduct daily systems administration including availability and performance. monitoring, optimisation, management of resource usage and systems incident resolution
• Adhere to change. release incident and problem management processes and procedures
•  Implement projects within or outside the ICT Infrastructure domain, or where backend systems are concerned

Key qualifications, experience & competencies

• BSc degree in Computer Science. Information Systems or any related field
• A professional certificate in Networking (CCNA/CCNP/Comptia N+) or Security, Programming, OBs. OS or Infrastructure is an added advantage
• Knowledge and competency in Microsoft and Linus operating systems and Office suite
• 4 years experience of working with Network Computing Systems/Windows TCP/IT networking
• Experience in the insurance industry is an added advantage
• Excellent communication skills and fluent in spoken English
• Customer-centric, motivated with the ability to take proactive steps in resolving queries
• Ability to work independently and within a team setting
