Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the post of General Manager within Hotspeck Enterprises. Applicants should submit an application letter accompanied by a detailed Curriculum Vitae and certified academic and professional certificates.

Hotspeck Enterprises is a subsidiary of Rural Electrification Fund (REF), established to support the country’s electrification programmes through the production of electricity poles and allied products, as well as renewable energy products. It is against this background that Hotspeck Enterprises seeks the services of a business leader with sharp business acumen.

The position, which reports to the REF Chief Executive Officer

Is responsible for, inter alia, the following:

  • Directs all Hotspeck functions.
  • Develops and reviews strategic business plans for Hotspeck.
  • Formulates general company policies. objectives. strategies which promote the growth of the company.
  • Reviews and approves business plans and action programmes for functional units.
  • Ensures effectiveness of organizational control systems.
  • Develops strategies to ensure return on investment.
  • Mobilises resources for company operations and ensuring optimum utilization.
  • Develops the Human Resources strategies. policies and practices that support the achievement of the company’s business strategy while fulfilling its obligations to its employees.
  • Ensures compliance with pertinent Statutes and Statutory Instruments,
  • Builds effective communication systems both internally and externally for cordial industrial relations and a good external image.

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes

  • MBA/MBL a must.
  • Degree in Engineering, Accounting. Marketing or Business Studies required.
  • Membership of a relevant professional institution.
  • Ten (10) years post graduate experience, five (1) of which shall be at senior management level.
  • Business Acumen.
  • Knowledge of diverse energy technologies.
  • High degree of compliance Engineering and Safety standards required to prevent loss of life and equipment.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Teamwork skills.
