Job Description

GRADE: 9
REPORTING TO: THE TOWNBOARD ADMINISTRATOR/FINANCE MANAGER

Banket Town Board is inviting applications from suitable qualified person to fill the post of finance officer.

Duties

  • Management of Banket Town Board Financial affairs
  • Preparation of annual budget and final accounts
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Production of accounts up to trial balances
  • Production of bank reconciliations statements
  • Preparation of cashbooks
  • Supervising cashiers
  • Creation and management of debtors and creditors data  base
  • Advising the board on financial issues
  • Spearheading and championing revenue collection
  • Supervising (IGPS) income generating projects
  • Any other duties as assigned by the superior

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a degree in accountancy or any related qualification from a recognized institution.
  • At least 3 (three) years’ experience in a public sector environment
  • Must be a member of a recognised professional board
  • Knowledge of pastel accounting is a must
  • A clean driver’s licence is a must
  • Be able to work under pressure with minimum supervision
  • No criminal record
