Job Description

Consumer Council of Zimbabwe is looking for an experienced candidate to join the CCZ team as an Executive Director, the incumbent will be responsible for the supervision of the overall CCZ Business Strategy. This role is crucial for the success of the organisation. The Executive Director will be a motivator to all the teams across the organisation with branches in all the five (5) regions of Zimbabwe.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To lead the Strategic Management process through particular attention to the financial performance inputs like effective use of proper budgetory planning and control systems and spearheading turnaround strategy of the CCZ.
  • To develop and maintain a logical system of planning which involves all those concerned with the operations of CCZ, to ensure that Corporate Objectives are achieved.
  • To maintain effective Public Relations of CCZ in order to improve its image and relations with its environment
  • To ensure that relations with other Consumer Education and Protection organizations internally and externally are maintained at satisfactory and harmonious levels for efficient and effective operation of the CCZ strategy.
  • To establish world class systems by improving transparency, accountability, good corporate governance and best practice in all functions of CCZ
  • To transform CCZ and maintain a highly customer oriented and customer responsive organization.
  • To effectively manage the daily operations of CCZ and be overally responsible for Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Performance and Financial Management of the organization.

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes

  • A degree in Social Science / Business Administration
  • A Masters degree would be an added advantage
  • At least 5 years experience in a consumer related organization
  • Experience in developing, planning and implementing successful strategies.
  • Must be willing to travel locally, regionally and internationally.
  • Ability to network with relevant stakeholders and other consumer organizations internationally.
  • Good analytical skills
  • A high degree of maturity, self discipline, initiative and creativity
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
  • Ability to work under pressure and demonstrate good leadership qualities.
  • To be consumer focused as CCZ’s culture.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • A Driver’s Licence a must
