Job Description

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To ensure Institute of Directors Zimbabwe has a comprehensive events management service, supporting the organization and delivery of Annual Events and other events and activities related to professional development and loDZ funded projects.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the design, co-ordination of loDZ’s events programme and develop new events.
  • Logistically ensure the full implementation of all events.
  • Coordinate the logistics, and marketing of the loDZ Annual Conference, workshops, professional development programme and other events.
  • Coordinate the communication and marketing of all events, working with stakeholders to identify markets and audiences.
  • Facilitate high-level engagement and attendance at IODZ events and initiatives by coordinating marketing campaigns including writing newsletters, social media posts, and blogs.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with, and provide outstanding customer service to, all our stakeholders including fellow staff, delegates, attendees, suppliers, sponsors, and industry leaders.
  • Manage event speakers and attendees, providing briefings and logistics support.
  • Manage events on the day including set-up and breakdown.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Degree in any one of the following: Marketing, Public relations, Events Management, or any relevant Degree.
  • A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.
  • Three (3) years in a similar Environment.

CRITICAL OR TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

  • Fluency in English.
  • Fluency in other local languages is desirable but not essential.
  • This position requires flexibility and the ability to manage time and multiple tasks.
  • Good experience of event management and minimum of 3-years previous experience working in events.
  • Strong writing experience and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must have good organisational skills, including the ability to manage a varied and sometimes heavy workload.
  • Ability to package information uniquely and effectively is an added advantage.
