Job Description

Our client operates in the Mining sector and is looking for a suitable person to fill the above position. The incumbent will be based at their Head office in Harare.

Job Specification

Taxation

Ensure timely filing of tax returns as well as settlement (VAT, WHT, QPDs, ITF 12C, etc)
Ensure ZIMRA tax ledgers are up to date and always
Oversee compliance with NRTF rules including filing and settlement
Review VAT computations and reconciliations
Review VAT manual files for completeness in case of VAT audits

Banks

Oversee acquittals across the group for both goods and services
Oversee supply of periodic information as per loan covenants
Follow up on internal audit issues
Review compliance with internal controls
Complete the monthly compliance checklist
Monthly review of the adequacy of insurance covers

Person specification

A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related disciplines
At least three (3) years in internal audit
Attention to detail and ability to multi-task are preferred
A professional qualification can be an advantage
