Job Description
Vacancies have arisen at Chiredzi Rural District Council
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following posts:
POST 1: ENGINEER- GRADE 10 x 1
REPORTS TO: CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- A Degree from a recognised University in Civil Engineering
- At least three years post qualification experience
- At least 30 years old and mature
- A clean criminal record
- A Zimbabwean citizen
- A clean record of service within the local government fraternity
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To superintends over the engineering department.
- To craft monthly and annual plans
- Construction and maintenance of all infrastructure, roads, water, sewerage installations and buildings under the Council’s area of jurisdiction.
- Prepare and controlling the budget of the engineering department.
- Review the existing plans and recommend amendments to the Chief Executive Officer.
- Planning and Designing infrastructure plans and inspect the developments for compliance with the approved plans.
- Maintain the data base for all assets of technical nature that is roads network, water reticulation network, sewer reticulation network, and plant and equipment.
- Monitoring and evaluation of projects.
POST 2: PROCUREMENT OFFICER- GRADE 9 x 1
REPORTS TO: CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- At least 5 “O” Levels including English Language and Mathematics
- At least a Higher National Diploma in Purchase and Supply with a bias towards Procurement or any related qualification
- Membership of a professional board for Purchasing and Supply, is a must
- A diploma in Purchase and Supply
- 3 years of experience in the Procurement field
- One who can work under pressure, and self- starter
POST 3: PLANNING TECHNICIAN – GRADE 9 x 1
REPORTS TO: DISTRICT PLANNER
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 5 “O” Levels including English Language and Maths
- Diploma in Rural and Urban Planning
- HND in Rural and Urban Planning an added advantage
- Distinct computer skills such as AutoCAD and GIS.
- At least 2 years post qualification experience
- Local government experience is an added advantage
- A clean non-criminal record and must be a citizen of Zimbabwe
- A clean record of service within the Local Government fraternity
- At least 25 years old and must be mature
- Clean class 4 drivers licence is an added advantage
POST 4: BUILDING TECHNICIAN/ INSPECTOR- GRADE 8 x 1
REPORTS TO: DISTRICT PLANNER
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- At least 5 “O” Levels including English Language and Mathematics
- At least Artisan Journeyman Class 1 in Bricklaying
- At least three years post qualification experience in a similar position. Local government/Public Works experience is an added advantage.
- Ability to ride a motorbike is an added advantage
- At least 25 years old and must be mature.
- A clean non-criminal record
- Must be a Zimbabwean citizen
POST 5: HUMAN RESOURCES AND ADMINISTRATION OFFICER – GRADE 9 x 1
REPORTS TO: EXECUTIVE OFFICER HR AND ADMINISTRATION
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- 5 “0” Levels including English language
- A Diploma in Local Governance, Diploma in Human Resources Management or equivalent
- IPMZ diploma or being a member of IPMZ would be an added advantage
- Computer literacy is essential
- Experience in Human Resources is an advantage
- A Higher National Diploma or Degree in Social Sciences would be an added advantage.
