Job Description

Applicants are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the vacant post of Chief Executive Officer (Grade 11) which has arisen in the organisation

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To formulate and implement Council’s budget and ensuring that it is approved by the Minister of Local Government and Public Works within the stipulated timeframe
  • To encourage and coordinate investor initiatives for enhancing economic growth and _ local economic development in the district
  • To formulate and implement Councils socio-economic development strategies
  • To ensure that Council is viable and delivering services to its communities
  • To promote the Council’s regional and international relations and partnerships
  • Providing technical, legal and administration advice to Council and its Committees.
  • Supervising and coordinating Council departments and ensuring that Council  resolutions are timeously implemented.
  • Strategically managing Council’s finances and ensuring that external audits are always up to date.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Social Sciences Degree, Business Studies, Law or Full CIS/ACCA/CIMA
  • A relevant Master’s Degree will be an added advantage
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Local Governance or Public Administration with at least
  • 3 years at Management level
  • Clean class 4 driver’s license
  • No criminal record
  • A Zimbabwean citizen
  • At least 40 years old and mature
