Job Description

Location:Harare
Type of Contract: Part-time / Casual Contract.

Duties

  • To follow and implement workplace health and safety guidelines and instructions.
  • Under limited supervision operate appropriate machinery such as lawn mowers and generator.
  • Maintain machinery in a clean and serviceable condition and report any faults.
  • Maintain documentation for the use of the generator such as fuel consumed and service schedule.
  • Caring for the grass, trees, plants by mowing, pruning or trimming them as needed.
  • Watering and monitoring the growth of the greenery.
  • Extracting and disposing of invasive plants and weeds.
  • Clearing the grounds of trash and dumping it appropriately.
  • Assist plumbers, welders, painters and other trades people onsite with the information that they may require.
  • Assist with loading and offloading materials and supplies into vehicles and subsequently packing in the store room.
  • Assist with moving furniture around.
  • General maintenance such as replacing light bulbs.
  • Performs and documents routine inspection and maintenance activities.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Person Specification:

  • 5 ‘O’ level Passes including English
  • 3 years’ experience in similar role
  • Experience within the landscape maintenance/ horticultural industry is an added advantage
  • Ability to take instructions and communicate in English
  • Capacity to use gardening tools and machines
  • Commitment to safety rules
  • Attentive and hard working
