Job Description:

The role is responsible for the procurement of goods and services for the company

Major Outputs:

  • Purchasing of goods, materials, components or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to make business savings
  • Assess and evaluate suppliers and undertake performance reviews to ensure contract compliance and manage performance improvement activities
  • Prepare purchase orders
  • Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues
  • Compliance to established procedures
  • Ensuring sufficient commercial control and adherence to Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality.


  • Degree in Supply Chain Management
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply


  • 3 years purchasing experience within the mining environment
  • Project management and SAP experience an added advantage
