We are currently seeking for a target driven, hardworking and team orientated individual, for a 6-month contract, to be responsible for the procurement of goods and services for the company whilst controlling and coordinating the expediting of material orders for the mine.

Platinum

Our Platinum business mines, processes, and refines the entire range of platinum group metals (PGMs): platinum, palladium, rhodium, ruthenium, iridium and osmium. We are the world’s leading primary producer of PGMs, which have a range of specialized applications that improve lives across the world from vehicle fuel cells to jewelry; dentistry to glassmaking; pacemakers to petroleum refining.

Job Description:

As a Buyer you will be required to purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery of targets whilst being responsible for:

  • Negotiating contracts with suppliers to make business savings
  • Assessing and evaluating suppliers and undertaking performance reviews to ensure contract compliance and manage performance improvement activities
  • Preparing purchase orders
  • Contacting suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues
  • Compliance to established procedures
  • Administering SAP buying system
  • Placing repair orders via SAP
  • Drawing outstanding order reports
  • Confirming contract and price queries
  • Sourcing supplies
  • Ensuring sufficient commercial control and adherence to Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing Management, Logistics or Accounting
  • Membership of Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) -advantageous
  • 3 years purchasing experience within the mining environment
  • Project management experience an added advantage
  • Computer literate for role including SAP knowledge
