Job Description

Caritas Mutare is one of the Caritas located in the eastern part of Zimbabwe which operates under the auspices of the Catholic Diocese of Mutare. We do relief and development interventions in the diocese particularly the dry parts of the diocese in regions 3, 4 and 5. Recently we experienced the devastating disaster of Cyclone Idai which mostly and to a greater extent affected the eastern parts of Manicaland province thus Chimanimani, Chipinge and Buhera districts.

Caritas Managed to respond to the disaster with internal and external support in the line of immediate needs like temporal shelter, foods, NFIs, hygiene kits, blankets, clothes, to recovery where we gave them permanent shelter, construction of latrines, repaired and drilled new boreholes, established micro-irrigation schemes, constructed piped water schemes, protected springs and did DRR trainings to both district and local stakeholders.

Caritas Mutare has been roped in by CAFOD to strengthen its capacity to respond to emergencies and disasters through their capacity strengthening programme.
