Job Description

CBZ Bank Limited is looking for an Assistant Manager, Rental Accounting to join its Finance department. If you are eager and motivated to join a large and diversified corporate, this is an opportunity for you.

What we expect from you

  • Review tenants’ account reconciliations.
  • Check and review all rental journals and approve posting.
  • Administer related party rentals and enforce that rentals are in line with transfer pricing requirements.
  • Monitor and review rent security deposits and refunds.
  • Optimize rental revenue and effectively minimize rental losses for the Bank.
  • Lead in reviewing management fees claims before recommending for payment.
  • Monitor the reporting ledger account balances and report unusual transactions to superior.
  • Maintain an updated rental rates database for comparative rental analysis and reviews.
  • Spearhead rent reviews and approvals for the Bank.
  • Champion and maintain profitable relationships with all landlords for rented branches and branch manager residences.
  • Engage landlords for proposed rental negotiations.
  • Ensure valid lease agreements are in place for all rented premises.
  • Maintain rental documentation and ensure all changes are supported by signed addendums.
  • Manage the CBZP relationship with the Bank covering maintenance, refurbishments and renovations of both rented and Bank’s own properties.
  • Ensure bills are collected and paid in time and rates for undeveloped properties countrywide are paid as per Council requirements.

Qualifications, Skills and experience required

  • Possess a relevant degree in Business studies, Accounting, Economics or similar.
  • Have a professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CIS or similar.
  • At least three years’ experience in property management or similar environment.
  • Should possess highly analytical skills.
  • Possess an eye for detail.
  • Have strong knowledge of the property market and related legislation.
  • Willing to travel across the country.
