DEPARTMENT : HEALTH SERVICES
REPORTING TO : THE DIRECTOR OF HEALTH SERVICES

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the position of Assistant Director of Health Services which has become vacant in the Health Services Department.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

A successful candidate should have the following qualifications and experience

  • Degree in Medicine/Nursing Sciences or equivalent.
  • Membership to a professional board is a requirement.
  • Minimum of 5 years post qualifying experience.
  • A clean criminal record.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Exercising budgetary control.
  • Ensuring monthly compilation of reports.
  • Reviewing existing legislation and recommend to Council and Government amendments when necessary.
  • Overall Clinical responsibilities.
  • Coordinating and communicating with Ministry of Health and Child Care, Public and Private Health Institutions on health matters within WHO and MoHCC guidelines.
  • Conducting supervisory visits to all health institution.
  • Participating in Staff development programmes.
  • Ensuring that Department meetings are held and scheduled.
  • Attending management and Council meetings as delegated by the Director.
  • Sourcing departmental requirements.
  • Any other duties as may be delegated by the Head of Department.
