This Artisan Assistant role is responsible for providing assistance to a pool of artisans (Electrical) to whom they will be allocated.

Our Platinum business mines, processes and refines the entire range of platinum group metals (PGMs): platinum, palladium, rhodium, ruthenium, iridium and osmium. We are the world’s leading primary producer of PGMs, which have a range of specialised applications that improve lives across the world from vehicle fuel cells to jewellery; dentistry to glassmaking; pacemakers.

Job Description:

  • Good employee relations and safe achievement of production performance.
  • Assisting multi-disciplinary artisans
  • Report any contraventions of the Mining (Management and Safety) Regulations, codes of practice, instructions, permissions, exemptions etc.
  • Ensuring conformity to legal requirements and Safety, Health , Environment and Quality standards including housekeeping

Qualifications:

  • 5 “O” levels
  • Valid Class 4 Drivers License will be an added advantage
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the mining/processing industry with basic knowledge on use of tools and equipment
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have commenced towards attainment of trade classes
  • Must be prepared to work overtime and do standby duties
