Job Description

LOCATION: HARARE

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for an Application Support Engineer who will be responsible for the health of all production applications as well as the tools required to build new applications. The role is key in digital transformation as it ensures service uptime, which in turn improves customer experience.

MAIN DUTIES

  • Automation of development and release processes.
  • Monitoring the production systems to identify problems in production.
  • Deployment of applications updates and fixes.
  • Investigating and resolving technical issues.
  • Responding to general questions and trouble tickets in a timely manner.
  • Provision of Level 2 technical support for enterprise-level application systems.
  • Developing scripts to automate visualization.
  • Design of procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Research, diagnose, and identify potential solutions for how to resolve an issue.
  • Prioritization of multiple, open issues.
  • Document issue triage as troubleshooting progresses.
  • Follow best practices for change control of proposed solutions..
  • Maintain service reports.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology.
  • At least 2 years’ experience working in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and troubleshooting.
  • Good knowledge of at least one scripting language – Python, Ruby, or Chef.
  • Working knowledge of databases and SQL.
  • Working knowledge of cloud computing.
  • Problem-solving attitude.
  • Team spirit.
