Job Description

The Abdullah Dzinamarira Foundation (ADF), a non-profit charity organization headquartered in Harare, aims to share hope with underprivileged and vulnerable children by ensuring their access to education and basic social support services. The Foundation seeks a highly qualified candidate to serve as the Accountant.

The Accountant will function under the Operations, Administration and Finance Department. At present, the incumbent will report to the Director of Philanthropy. This position is part time and the incumbent will work 16 hours each week.

Job Description

  • Day to day operations in the Accounting & Admin department
  • Coordinate the replacement of the Excel system with a read only computer accounting package (QuickBooks)
  • Follow up and implement audit recommendations
  • Manage ZIMRA and NSSA files
  • Manage tax audits
  • Manage all books of accounts for the Trust
  • Train administrative, finance, and accounting stuff on attachment
  • Monitor budget alignment of all Trust activities
  • Assist in budgeting for proposals
  • Manage all financial reporting
  • Review and revise existing standard operation procedures


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, plus a minimum of 1 years work experience
  • Experience in working with key government ministries in community development projects is required
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Prior experience working in a related position is a requirement (particularly in a related organization

Additional Information

The position is:

  • contingent upon the availability of donor funding
  • an initial three-month short-term contract with a possibility of renewal depending on performance.
