Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly accruals for functional departments and act as main point of contact for these departments and finance
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigate anomalies and prepare corrective accounting entries
  • Calculate the allocation of charges between business units for fuel, power, water, people transportation and camp
  • Correctly account for transactions in various different currencies and ledgers within the accounting system
  • Manage site petty cash, employee advances and expense report
  • Assist departments in preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts
  • Analyse differences between actual budget and forecast
  • Provide effective support to the external, internal and Government auditors
  • Prepare work orders for the Finance Department and perform other administrative tasks


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Professional qualification ACA/ACCA/CIMA
  • 3 years minimum experience in Accounting
  • Previous experience in a mining experience an added advantage
  • Excellent IT skills in Microsoft Excel, Spreadsheets and Word
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of people at various levels both internally and externally
  • Commercial awareness and business acumen
